First captures from my new medium format camera. Mostly out testing just to see if it worked well. Will need lots of practice! This is the boat house and small beach at Lake Crabtree.

Instant coffee delivered by amazon was broken in the box—glass bottle shattered. It takes a lot of persistence to get help from Amazon, had to talk to like 3 different people and a robot. How many people just give up? Ohhh that’s why. 🙃
The entrance to Raleigh’s Union Station provided some great shadows!

Digging up my old camera equipment I found this old DIY lens adapter I made to get “film like” footage on my minidv cameras. I ground the ground-glass myself!
After I bought my rangefinder film camera last year, I promptly put a roll of Ilford HP5+ in it and… took a self portrait in the mirror. Then forgot to develop it for a year.

I love these scale explorations, this one is great. ANTS!
I made a short of how I made the thumbnail for our last YouTube video. It was pretty fun to put this together.
We posted the third and final video in a series about our 10 day van trip to the beach between Christmas and New Year’s Day. This time I made an even more YouTube-y YouTube thumbnail!
It’s simple but taking a photo towards the sun in the shadow of a tree will always look cool to me.

It’s new camera day! I bought an old Mamiya 645 Super medium format film camera! It has a waist-level view finder too, so it’ll be a learning experience. Can’t wait to see how the first set of photos!
I really like when my hikes require a creek crossing. This one must have previously had a bridge.

Went hiking in the rain and a small creek started forming along the trail. It’s much more muddy when hiking in the rain but need to remember to still go!

Burrito for lunch, burrito for dinner, leftover burrito for lunch tomorrow. 🌯🌯🌯 I’m an adult.
These mushrooms look uncomfortably close to those infected in “The Last of Us”—I’ll just take this photo and continue walking.

Debugging a SwiftUI view in a macOS hack project for the last hour and just can’t understand why there is an extra padding of ~40 points.
Completely overlooked a nested view with .padding(40)
. 🙄
These little stumps(?)—I’ve just been calling them treelings—in front of a murky pond are along my morning hikes.

The bridge over a small pond for the miniature train ride around Pullen Park in Raleigh. I was trying to capture the light reflecting off the water onto the bridge—looks really cool.

Part 2 of our 10 day van trip video is out. This time we see amazing sunsets in New Bern, NC and try to avoid local dogs that clearly don’t want us around. Stay for the post-credits! 🙃
The beach is that way in case you needed to know. Hiking Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge on the outer banks was really great.
